Value Center Market's floor is just one in an ever-growing list of retail food stores around the country deciding to replace their high-maintenance vinyl tile floors with the new, visually appealing and low-maintenance FGS/PermaShine Concrete Floor System.
"I've had stores with vinyl tile in the past…and it was a maintenance nightmare!" said Value Center Market's owner, Ron Farida. He continued, "I appreciate the fact that the FGS PermaShine floor is such low maintenance. All we do is dry-mop during the day and wet scrub the floor with FGS Conditioner at night with a walk-behind scrubber… the floor looks absolutely great!"
Additional visual appeal was added to the new FGS polished concrete floor by having the contractor install various colored shake-on hardeners to the fresh concrete, which increase the abrasion resistance of the floor and provide attractive, visual identification to various parts of the store. The contractor accentuated the floor surfaces with shallow, decorative saw-cut lines, placed at 48 inch angled intervals and had them filled. Farida said, "I just love my new floor…everything is perfect! I'm planning to do an FGS floor in my next store this year and another next year."
